So, my state of Washington hasn’t quite gotten the memo that it is Spring just yet, but I think it is safe to say we are officially in the Spring Transition! We may have one bright, beautiful warm day followed by three days of grey chillyness… but there are higher temps in the forecast so I am remaining hopeful it will be here to stick soon! While our weather changes (slowly) to Spring, I’ve been impatiently wearing warmer season clothes while trying my best not to not freeze.

These are a few of my favorite things for this transitional weather! My beloved jeans, peep toe shoes that are warmer than sandals but are headed in the sandal direction, and sweaters that are lighter than what you may wear during the bitter winter, but warm enough for the chilly breezes still in the air.

Year round I am I’m all about effortless style. And when I say effortless I mean the “glance in your closet and grab the first things you see because you are late again and the baby is screaming but you still look great because of your awesome wardrobe” effortless sort of way! (Please tell me I’m not the only one who has mornings like this?) The combination of great silhouettes and neutral colors make effortless style totally attainable for any woman, any season.

Neutrals are a key component to effortless dressing because of how easily they pair with each other. While I love color, I gravitate towards neutrals for my everyday looks. (Also mom tip? Oatmeal is very close to the color of baby spit up so when you get hit (which you will!) the stain will blend in and not be so obvious until you can change.) Neutral shades are also great because you can integrate them into your wardrobe during any season.

I love this sweater I picked up a few seasons ago from Nordstrom. They have restocked it in a few colors but it looks like it just sold out again 🙁 Here are a few similar ones that I love. These are so great to give you an updated look but in such an effortless way!

If you find yourself often fretting over having nothing to wear while you stare at your closet full of clothes, find a few new updated basics (like these sweaters) in neutral shades to help you out this Spring, and be on your way to more effortless mornings!
