The Momiform

Sweater: BP | Leggings: Spanx | Shoes: Vince (similar, similar, loving these for Spring!) | Diaper Bag: Skip Hop

While I have always loved dressing up, since having my baby I have found a need for practical outfits for our regular days. Enter, the “Momiform”. While I am not chasing my baby around quite yet, I have her stuff to lug around (stroller, car seat, baby carrier, diaper bag, etc. Tiny baby, lots of stuff) when we leave the house, and am constantly getting up and down with her while at home.

I quickly discovered that leggings were my new best friend! (Let’s be honest, we were close friends before but can be together much more now that I am not working in a corporate office environment 😀 ) I didn’t want to sacrifice style though for practicality. I love leggings that have a little something extra to differentiate them from a pair of basic black classics, but aren’t too loud that they say “I worked out” when I haven’t worked out in days….

These Spanx Faux Leather leggings are perfect! First, I love the look of them. They help me feel just a little dressed up (and a little cool) but are extremely comfortable. Secondly, they were amazingly perfect for my postpartum bod. The top is just tight enough to smooth out the baby pooch without being restricting. Trying to workout now to get rid of the baby pooch, but in the meantime these help me feel comfortable and confident. Trust me Mama- you need these in your life!!

Next, longer, looser sweaters are the perfect match. They not only cover your backside while just standing (leggings are not pants… just a reminder) but also while bending to open the stroller, or dive for the pacifier the baby threw again, or still covers while wearing the baby carrier, and I don’t have to think about making sure its pulled down. This definitely boosts the practicality factor. I am obsessed with this BP sweater. I love it so much I bought it in 3 colors. They are super soft, cozy but still lightweight, and under $40!

Lastly, fashionable sneakers complete the look. I adore these velvet Vince ones. They are definitely comfortable, but have some stylish detailing to help elevate my look. I linked similar ones above.

All elements combine to create what I now call my “Momiform”. For days where I know we have some errands to run but nothing fancy happening.  I feel put together, but completely comfortable, and I am not sacrificing style for practicality.

Hope you all have a great start to your week, and thanks for stopping by!
